Our(OFC)certification program is the exercise standards and exams for The Fitness Practitioners Association of Ontario. Meeting the OFC standard in one or more certifications, will allow you to register as an OFC Certified Registered Health and Exercise Practitioner (OFC – RHEP).

This registration affiliates our members with all of our provincial partners and is transferable within provinces.
The NFLA (Fitness Leadership Canada) represents Canada as a global representative within ICREPS In Ontario, earning and maintaining a recognized certification ensures that you can deliver safe and effective programs and services to your clients or class participants based on current evidence-informed practice.

It also provides you with:

  • Affordable professional liability insurance (if required/applicable
  • Automatic 2 million General commercial Liability insurance.
  • This allows you to make a living in the fitness and exercise industry on a full or part time basis in person and online!
  • The OFC and our NFLA partners provide a range of standards for certifications programs (Standards and learning outcomes) in group exercise or personal training-individual exercise consultation.
  • We provide standards for certificate programs for individuals who work with

  • Children and/or older adults,
  • Pilates Fitness,
  • Yoga Fitness,
  •  Group Exercise Sub scopes such as Indoor Cycling, or Drum exercise.

  • You must be 18 years or older to obtain NFLA certification Certifications and education are available in the following areas:
    • Exercise Theory (prerequisite knowledge)
    • Personal Training
    • Group Exercise
    • Aquatic Exercise
    • Older Adult Exercise
    • Resistance Training
    All regionally affiliated NFLA certifications provide insurance and are supported with approved continuing education credit opportunities (conferences, courses, refresher exams, workshops) to help you expand your skill set, and maintain your accreditation and registration.

    Certifications delivered by NFLA regional partners are transferable nationally and recognized internationally through the NFLA and the International Confederation of Registers for Exercise Professionals.
