Come join Stephanie and Yuji as they co-teach this fun and interactive workshop on how to adapt yoga poses for people with special needs. Stephanie and Yuji's Adapted Yoga class has been successful with people suffering from autism, developmental delays, down's syndrome, ADHD and emotional disturbances. In their adapted yoga classes, students with special needs learn various yoga poses, yoga salutations, breathing & relaxation techniques, as well as how to interact co-operatively with their peers. The workshop's aim is to show that every student, no matter what their needs are, can make great progress in Yoga.
This new 3-hour experiential workshop is designed for teachers, yoga instructors, fitness professionals and anyone who works with people with special needs. Participants will learn how to adapt yoga poses, how to adapt teaching methods, how to develop lesson plans and create goals for individuals with various special needs. The workshop is very "hands-on" so come prepared to move. Space is limited so please call or e-mail to register early!
Their latest video documentary will give a sense of some of the materials covered in this workshop. Check out their youtube video here.
